Avid Systems is seeking a highly skilled Senior Azure Cloud Administrator to design, implement, and manage enterprise-grade Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure. This role demands a deep understanding of Azure services, cloud architecture principles, and operational excellence in managing complex cloud environments. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in driving cloud strategy, optimizing operations, and ensuring security and compliance across our Azure infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and implement Azure cloud solutions aligned with business goals and best practices.
- Manage and optimize Azure infrastructure, including virtual networks, storage, and compute resources.
- Oversee cloud security, ensuring compliance with enterprise and regulatory standards.
- Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
- Monitor and optimize cloud costs and resource utilization.
- Automate cloud operations using Azure DevOps, PowerShell, and Infrastructure as Code (ARM templates, Terraform).
- Implement and maintain Identity and Access Management (Azure AD).
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior cloud engineers.
- Drive cloud adoption and migration initiatives across the organization.
- Establish and enforce cloud governance frameworks.
Skills & Qualifications:
Required Technical Skills
- 10+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
- Hands-on expertise in Azure core services, including Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks, Storage, Azure AD, and security tools.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation with PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong knowledge of cloud networking, security concepts, load balancing, and high availability solutions.
- Experience with disaster recovery and backup strategies using Azure solutions.
- Current Microsoft Azure certifications (Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent).
Preferred Technical Skills
- Experience with advanced Azure services like Kubernetes (AKS), Azure Functions, and Azure Front Door.
- Familiarity with Azure Policy, Blueprints, and cost optimization practices.
- Knowledge of multi-cloud environments and DevOps methodologies.
Leadership & Professional Skills
- Proven ability to lead technical projects and mentor team members.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to design scalable cloud architectures.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Project management expertise, with experience in agile methodologies and ITIL frameworks.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Microsoft Azure certifications required (Azure Solutions Architect Expert). Additional certifications are a plus.
Required Experience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience managing Azure cloud services.
- 3+ years of experience in cloud architecture and design.
- 2+ years of experience leading technical teams or cloud projects.
